usa! usa! {ryder cup}

Ryder Cup Fashion - USA! USA! // A Style Caddy

If you don't follow golf, then you might not be aware of a pretty big event happening this weekend. The Ryder Cup, taking place at Gleneagles in Scotland, will have the twelve man team for the USA  teeing it up against the twelve man team for Europe. Though I wish I could be there {currently living vicariously through my parents who left for the tournament yesterday!}, I'll be watching and cheering on Team USA from my comfy little couch.

I hope you didn't put away your festive red, white, and blue because patriotic fashion is on serious display at The Ryder Cup. We're talking face paint, crazy hats {or hair for the golfers}, team colors... You name it and someone is probably wearing it. Or just singing some crazy tune for their beloved team.

Team USA will be looking pretty sharp this weekend, as they were outfitted by Ralph Lauren. I went for a more subdued look with little bits of our flag here and there - a flag scarf, stars and stripes sneakers, tie-dye nails, star stud earrings, a red lip. And we can't forget the gold bag to give good vibes for a USA victory on Sunday!

apple cider donuts

Apple Cider Donuts // A Style Caddy

The autumn season officially starts tomorrow, and as if I haven't mentioned it enough already, I am so excited! These apple cider donuts are the perfect thing to start off the season tomorrow morning. Honestly, they're like fall in a donut. Enjoy it with either your daily cup of coffee or dunk it in a mug of apple cider. Either way, you will love each sugared and spiced bite!

weekend reading

Weekend Reading {image via Crystalin Marie} // A Style Caddy

TGIF! Am I right, or am I right? This week seemed to just drag on and on so I'm extremely happy that it's finally Friday. I plan on doing nothing but relaxing and a little baking this weekend. What's on your agenda?

-- Meghan Trainor can do no wrong. Her cover of "Shake It Off" is better than the original.

-- I may not be a diehard baseball fan, but I will always root for the Yankees. This farewell tribute to the Captain {Derek Jeter in case you didn't know} gave me goosebumps and brought tears to my eyes. I'm dreading his last day in the Yankees uniform.

-- Lauren Conrad got married last weekend and I can't wait to see the photos! I can only imagine how chic it must have been.

-- This Is Where I Leave You comes out today! I loved the book so I'm excited for this one. Tina Fey, Jason Bateman, Jane Fonda, Adam Driver... I can't wait.

-- Get ready to start breaking out the plaid, sweaters, riding boots, and quilted vests because the fall season officially starts on Tuesday! I think I may try this recipe for apple cinnamon pretzel bites because it looks delicious and has a caramel dipping sauce. Yum!

beauty on a budget: concealers

Beauty On a Budget: Concealer Dupes // A Style Caddy

It's not much of a secret that I love makeup. Sephora is one of my favorites places to shop, but sometimes the purchases aren't so budget friendly. So of course, I get incredibly excited when I find a drugstore dupe for a high-end product! Since I wear concealer every day, finding a drugstore concealer that is similar to a pricier favorite makes my day.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer {$29} vs. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer {$7}: Both of these concealers are incredibly moisturizing, creamy, and long-lasting. Maybelline doesn't offer the same shade range that NARS does so it may be a bit more difficult to find your perfect/exact match, but I don't know of many drugstore brands that win in that department. They both work as an all-around concealer - covering dark circles, redness, and blemishes - and don't emphasize dry patches. NARS does offer a tad bit more coverage since it's a thicker formula compared to Maybelline's more fluid consistency, but adding an extra layer of the drugstore pick doesn't bother me.

YSL Touche Éclat {$41} vs. L'Oréal Magic Lumi {$13}: Both YSL and L'Oréal have an illuminizing effect, which is great for those especially tired mornings. They also both work as under eye concealers and face highlighters. Again, the drugstore version doesn't have as many shades as the higher end, but I wasn't so surprised by that. YSL has a thicker consistency compared to L'Oréal and definitely lasts longer. I often find myself wanting to touch up and apply more throughout the day when I've used the Magic Lumi as my concealer. It's still a great budget-friendly option!

plaid picks

Plaid Picks // A Style Caddy

One of the things I look forward to the most when cooler temps start rolling in is wearing plaid, plaid, and more plaid. I always break out anything and everything plaid during the fall and winter. It is, by far, my favorite pattern and second favorite thing to wear after solids and neutrals.

I rounded up a few plaid things from around the web that are perfect to take you into the cooler months. From bags to shoes, nails and shirts - it is popping up everywhere and I love it!

Unfortunately, it's not Friday. But I had a rough day yesterday and felt the need to share a few of my favorites from Laura. Make sure to find her on Instagram for more colorful words of optimism, rainbow ordered everything, and adorable Midwestern moments.

Happy Wednesday!

fall candles

Fall is just a few weeks away! I can't wait for cooler and crisper weather and everything that comes with the season. I added a few new fall scents to my candle collection and thought I'd share it with you. Bath & Body Works is my go-to for candles like this, especially when you can get them for a great deal. Two for $22? Um, I'll take that! Make sure to check their site because those sales run pretty often!

What are you favorite fall scents?

friday jams

I already love the original version of "All About That Bass" by Meghan Trainor, so much so that I listen to it on repeat to get me energized in the morning. But when you throw in some Jimmy Fallon, The Roots, and classroom instruments... well, they just make it that much better!

So now I'll be listening to Meghan Trainor and some country tunes {because country music is especially great during the summer} while I'm out and about this weekend.

Happy Friday!
