monday scorecard {vol. 10}

Monday Scorecard {Vol. 10} // A Style Caddy

Can you believe that it's the last day of August? The year if flying by! I'm actually just a little bit jealous of all those who are starting school, especially those in college. It's been eight years since my first day at Syracuse and I always miss it majorly right around this time.

To cheer myself - and you! - up, here are some fun things from the weekend!

Ace // Brian Harman had not one, but two hole in ones during Sunday's round at The Barclays. Two in one round! That doesn't happen very often. Some luck he had yesterday.

Eagle // Jason Day won his third tournament in four starts yesterday. He is on a roll! And it's a good time for it, too, since the FedEx Cup playoffs have just started. He's currently at the top of the leaderboard, but that could all change since the winner of any tournament during the playoffs gets 2,000 points.

Birdie // Have you seen the Olivia Palermo x Ciaté London collaboration? If you haven't, you need to. Everything is gorgeous, especially these nail polishes.

Birdie // This YouTube channel came up as a recommendation to me last week, and I am so glad it did. Ever since graduating from college, I've tried to be careful with my money and save as much as I can. Canna Campbell has a TON of advice on how to budget, pay off debts, and what to invest in. She's very knowledgeable and all of her tips and tricks are helpful!

Par // I am always struggling to come up with lunches to take to work that aren't boring and lacking in flavor. Here are five that solve that problem and are healthy and filling.

Happy Monday!

fall shoe trends: block heels

Fall Shoe Trends: Block Heels // A Style Caddy

Happy Friday!

I know so many people love summer, but I am not one of those. I'm already counting down the days until fall officially starts. Since I've had the upcoming season on my mind so much lately, I thought I'd start sharing some of my favorite fall fashion and beauty trends for this year.

I'm not really much of a high heel girl. If a heel is over 3 1/2 - 4 inches, I find them so hard to walk in and will most definitely trade them in for flats. But this year, I've been noticing a huge trend in shoes that is especially popular for the fall. Block heels.

Oh my gosh, now that I've discovered the greatness of a chunky block heel, I am never turning back. I have more pairs on my fall shoes wish list than I have space in my apartment. I recently bought this pair from ASOS and love them so much that I decided that I needed to share my love for these shoes with you.

Block heels are much more sturdy than a skinny stiletto so it's much easier to walk in a higher heel. Because they're so chic and comfortable, they're a great transition shoe option for after-work plans. Platforms are an added bonus and look great with flowy midi dresses like this beachy one for the last days of summer and this one in a fun print for fall. I also love them with jeans, especially flared and boot cut styles, for a more retro 1970s look.

golf tournament spectator style

Golf Tournament Spectator Style // A Style Caddy

The FedEx Cup Playoffs start tomorrow in NJ with The Barclays Tournament and I am excited for four more fun weeks of golf before the season comes to an end. I often talk about the tournaments I go to and others throughout the year, but I never share what to wear. And what's better than one outfit? Two, of course.

I prefer to wear shorts and sneakers to tournaments because we walk follow a group or pairing {depending on the day} and go all 18 holes. Sneakers are just the most logical choice and the Reebok Skyscapes are incredibly comfortable. Shorts are just more comfortable for me in this setting, especially since I do sit down occasionally on the grass near the fairways. Pull-on shorts from J. Crew or J. Crew Factory are some of my favorites. I've also really loved wearing overalls this year and think it's a really cute throwback 90's outfit.

In terms of accessories, I tend to forgo lots of jewelry and opt for simple dainty rings like this one from BaubleBar. I do wear makeup but go for a routine that's really quick, easy, and long wearing. I love this sunscreen from Clinique {super important!}, their new liquid eyeliner, and mascara. Sunglasses and some type of hat are essentials. This 'Double Bogey' snapback is funny and just so appropriate. I always bring a small handbag to store my phone, credit cards {sometimes there are perks}, hand sanitizer, and other things.

I'll be at The Barclays this weekend and you can see my adventures during the tournament on Snapchat {sheriann_snaps} or Instagram!

monday scorecard {vol. 9}

Monday Scorecard {Vol. 9} {Image via The Littlest Things} // A Style Caddy

Good morning, friends! Another Monday is here {boo!} but I've got a few links ands finds from the weekend to share with you. Hooray!

Ace // Have you heard of the blog The Littlest Things? I just found it last night and love it! The photography is just beyond amazing. Sophie also has another blog called What to Cook where she shares tons of delicious recipes and other lifestyle things. You need to check it out if you haven't already!

Birdie // The golf season is coming to an end, but the FedEx Cup Playoffs starts on Thursday with The Barclays! Typically my parents and I have to travel for golf, but this tournament is NJ so it's just a short drive away.

Par // Is it really bad that I'm already thinking about the Sephora VIB Sale that happens later this year and adding things to my wish list?

Par // I've been looking for a dress to wear to a wedding and love the selection at ASOS. They have so many pretty dresses! I especially love this lace and sequin embroidered maxi and this navy pleated cami dress.

Par // Some might consider Tiger Woods not winning a bad thing, but he showed a lot of progress during the Wyndham Championship this weekend. It was nice to see him at the top of the leaderboard on Saturday and in the second to last group on Sunday.

Double Bogey // Oh, Martin Kaymer! The former world number one is one of my favorites, but I'm a little confused as to his reasoning in playing such a short PGA schedule this 2014-2015 season. Maybe he took a gamble? Who knows. But since he didn't qualify for the playoffs, he's lost his PGA Tour status for next year. He's still a member of the European Tour, but it'll be interesting to hear his comments on this and how he'll bounce back next season.

PS. If you want to see some other things I'm loving, you can check them all out here on my Shop page!

recent read: slaying the tiger

Recent Read: Slaying the Tiger // A Style Caddy

You know by now how much I love sports and especially golf. When my dad first suggested that I read 'Slaying the Tiger' by Shane Ryan, I wasn't too enthusiastic given that I wasn't aware at all about what the book was about.

If there's one thing to know about me and sports, it would be that I base if I like an athlete on their character. For instance, they could be touted as the best golfer by the media, but if I see them act negatively on the course, I'm most likely not going to be a fan. It doesn't mean that I don't recognize their talent; they just won't be my favorite.

But golf is different from other sports. It's not the most popular so you don't really hear about players in the media. They keep their lives pretty private, rarely sharing information about family or what happens off the course. {Unless you are Tiger Woods. Then your private life has been all over the news.} And that's what makes this book so appealing. Shane Ryan was able to talk to successful golfers and those close to them during 2013-2014 season, a season where we really started seeing younger players emerge as successful and talented, putting them in the forefront of a sport that was dominated by Tiger Woods for so long. You learn more about their family life, how they came to love the sport, how they fought to get on the PGA and European Tours, and what other players think of them. Ever wanted to know if Rickie Fowler is really as nice as he seems? It's in there. Have you ever wanted to know more about mysterious Victor Dubuisson? Ryan covers that. Is Bubba Watson really the least popular among other Tour pros? That and everything from Rory McIlroy's strive for greatness and what really happened with Tom Watson and the U.S. Ryder Cup team is discussed. There isn't a boring chapter in this book.

I promise that if you are a golf fan of any kind, this book is one that you need to read. And if you aren't a fan, you should read this because it makes the game and the players much more interesting. The dynamics of the sport change when you have the information Shane Ryan shares in this book. It's a good one for sure!

airport style

Airport Travel Style // A Style Caddy
Sesame Street Graphic Tee // J. Crew Leggings // Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Brea High-Top Sneakers // H&M Open Cardigan // Warby Parker Bensen Glasses // Halogen Infinity Scarf // Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz // NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer // Buxom Lash Waterproof Mascara // bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss // Madewell Transport Tote

If you follow me on Instagram, then you probably saw that I headed to Wisconsin yesterday. I thought I would share my go-to airport travel outfit - everything from the clothes to makeup.

I'm all about comfort and warmth when it comes to airports, so I wear leggings with a fun tee and add a sweater and a scarf as the trip goes on. I actually got the Sesame Street tee recently at Target and plan on wearing it on the trip back home. While I don't own these high-tops {though I would love to}, I'll be wearing these slip-on Converse sneakers

As for makeup, I tend to not wear much on travel days. I go for something quick and only do what I think are the essentials - brows, mascara, concealer, and lip gloss or lip balm. If I do add any eyeshadow, it's usually a quick swipe of cream eyeshadow from Laura Mercier.

I know that my travel outfit isn't exactly glamorous. The most important thing for me when I'm facing any type of trip is to wear comfortable clothing and still look put together. Both are key if you ask me!

What are your go-tos for your travel outfit?

monday scorecard {vol. 8}

Monday Scorecard {Vol. 8} // A Style Caddy

Another week and weekend done. Time for the Monday Scorecard!...

Ace // The countdown is on! I'm off to Wisconsin tomorrow for the last major of the year, the PGA Championship. I've never been to the state before and I'm excited! I consider myself an honorary Badger fan after cheering them on earlier this year at the Final Four.

Eagle // This video on men's beauty standards is one of the most interesting things I found this weekend. I feel like this is a subject not often talked about so it is most definitely worth a watch.

Birdie // Guys, you know what happens at this time of the year? School supplies and planners! I have this Lilly Pulitzer agenda and have been using it so much.

Par // Have you guys ever watched the TV series Friday Night Lights? I know it was on TV nearly ten years ago, but I just started watching on Friday and I am so hooked.

Par // I'm already thinking about fall things, like all of these candles from Bath and Body Works. I swear, that is the best place to get candles at a good price.

Par// I'm really looking into a pair of flared jeans, like these from Treasure & Bond, to wear with booties and wedges. Any recommendations?

Happy Monday!

july favorites

Another month has come and gone, which means that it's time for a monthly favorites video! Honestly, there isn't too much here since I had some skin issues in July and had to forgo makeup for three weeks. Now that I'm back on my beauty routine, I'm pretty sure the August video later this month will have much more. In the meantime, I talk about other life things here so I hope you guys life it!

Don't forget to let me know what you were loving from the past month!

monday scorecard {vol. 7}

Monday Scorecard {Vol. 7} // A Style Caddy

Another month has come and gone, which means that the summer is coming to an end. Am I the only one who's really excited about that? Summer is my least favorite season and fall is my favorite so I'm counting down the days til cooler temps.

Until then {I know I've got awhile}, we've got to address all the great happenings from the weekend!

Ace // Rickie Fowler had a walk-off ace during the first round of the Quicken Loans National. If you don't know what that means, he made a hole-in-one on his last hole of the day. What a way to end the day, huh? Oh! And then he treated every one in the media center to a beer. #classact

Eagle // Images of endangered species were projected onto the Empire State Building on Saturday night. It's one of the coolest things you'll see.

Birdie // The countdown to Wisconsin and the PGA Championship is on!

Par // I love tomatoes. And if they are the fried green variety, I might love them just a little bit more. This is an oven-fried green tomato recipe that I need to try ASAP.

Bogey // BaubleBar is killing me with all of the new pretty pieces they've been adding to their site lately. I'm a sucker for anything dainty and minimal and these staple chain studs, this parallel bar ring, and the Molly Y-Chain necklace. Trying very hard to resist...

Double Bogey // I don't have a picture of this, but when I went to the grocery store I saw that they had put out Halloween candy. Guys, it's only the beginning of August! I'm looking forward to fall too, but it is way too early.

Happy Monday!
